It’s hard to believe it has been two years since the Google Chrome browser was launched. Since then, there have been hundreds of extensions have been released by web developers (and Google itself) to add more functionality to the Chrome browser for its users.

We have already outlined our top 3 SEO extensions, but what about the favorite extensions used by the staff at Google?

Well, Matt Cutts recently gave his answer in a short video (see below).

If you’ve not got time to watch the video, then here is Matt’s selection:

• goo.gl URL Shortener – Takes long URLs directly from the browser and squeezes them into fewer character to make a link that is easier to share, tweet or email.
• Favorite Doodle – Replaces the logo on the Google homepage and search results page with your personal favorite Google Doodle. You will still see the new doodles on special occasions.
• Google Similar Pages – When you click the Similar Pages button, your browser will send a search query to Google to see if there are any similar pages for the page you are viewing.

As the person in charge of social media at ineedhits, I am always on the lookout for tools that make this area of my job more efficient. So, my favourite social media extensions are:

• Yoono – All my social networks in one extension. Allows me to update the status and share links, images and video from the page I am currently viewing across all ineedhits social media networks simultaneously.
• Hash Icon – adds icons to popular hashtags used on twitter such as #ineedhits or #SEO.
• Mashable – keeps me up to date with the latest social media news and tools.
