With the holiday season fast approaching, there’s one day especially important for online retailers – Cyber Monday.
Cyber Monday falls on the first Monday after thanksgiving and is traditionally one of the biggest online shopping days of the year. The name Cyber Monday came about in 2005 after retailers noticed a large amount of Americans, fresh off a Thanksgiving weekend of shopping, were returning to work to finish their holiday shopping online.
In 2010, comScore reported that Cyber Monday spending passed the $1 billion mark for the first time, with people spending 16% more compared to 2009.
The growth in Cyber Monday spending over the years clearly shows that the idea is catching on with consumers and merchants alike.
As a website owner, if you’re looking to capture a share of the Cyber Monday spending, here are our top 3 tips.
