Yahoo!’s upgrade of its real estate website, which is scheduled for release on Tuesday, brings with it the tools and functionality online real estate promotion has needed for years.
The enhanced Yahoo! Real Estate offers access to over 3 million listings supported by Yahoo!’s range of search, mapping and local tools. Finally a seriously interactive real estate portal is available where property buyers and sellers can find all the information they need.
Interactive maps integrated with Yahoo Local mean that prospective buyers can get better acquainted with their future neighbourhood better than ever before. Find listings and check their location in relation to schools, shops and restaurants whilst getting the inside word from other Yahoo! users’ reviews.
Yahoo! has also included the power of zillow.com to provide access to instant home valuations combined with access to local mortgage information and rates. Users can find comprehensive market snapshots, trend charts and local statistics.
To top it off, Yahoo! has incorporated its social star, Yahoo! Answers. So if you can’t find the details you’re after, or you have more questions you need addressed, you can post your queries and have local experts provide you the answers you need.
I’m surprised it has taken so long for real estate websites to embrace the localized search technology available. Expect to see traditional real estate portals rushing to embrace the technology via alternative mapping and local services like Google Maps.
