Late last week Google announced that the company had expanded Google Maps internationally to cover Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
As in the United States, local searchers can now choose between detailed local maps or high resolution satellite imagery. The improved satellite imagery is now also available on Google Earth.
For all four countries, APIs are also available, allowing programmers to create their own mashups. If you are interested in developing your own Google Maps mashup, you can find out more in this ZDNet blog article about creating your own Google Maps mashup.
