Google seems to have a firm grasp on yet another online space in the U.S. – online videos.
ComScore has released data for March, showing that Google has emerged as the top U.S. video property, registering more than 4.3 billion videos of the total 11, 476,886 videos viewed online.
Google share increased by 2.6% to 38% when compared to February 2008. Of this 38% market share, YouTube accounted for 98% of these videos.
Google’s rivals in this space don’t even come close; actually the next closest is Fox Interactive Media, which holds only a 4.2% share.
Google’s purchase of YouTube back in 2006 certainly seems to be paying off. How can Google capitalize on this even further? I think running ads on YouTube would certainly give them some strong advertising revenues.
