We have some great news for businesses… Google has just announced the launch of business pages on Google+ (similar to Facebook business pages).
Businesses can create their own pages by visiting the following link http://plus.google.com/pages/create. With a similar look and feel to Facebook pages, these Google+ pages are another way businesses can reach out to their current and potential customers.
Although only launched on Monday, some businesses have been quick to jump on board, including ineedhits.
The advantage these pages have over alternatives is that Google+ Pages are armed with “Direct Connect” which makes the complete Google + Pages experience much more easier than ever before. All you do is add a + sign before the name of the business when searching on Google and you will be taken to their Google+ page (and Google will even add them to your circle, if you want).
Creation of these pages has been made pretty simple; the person who creates the page is the administrator. Currently, no one else will be able to admin the page after that and the administration of the page cant be transferred to anyone else. Google has promised multiple administrator support in the not to distant future. So my tip is, if your company has a social media manager, that person should be the one to create the account.
One thing I love about these new pages is that if you’re business has multiple brands or even events then you can also make pages specifically for each brand and event.
While Facebook continues to win the social media race, the addition of Google+ business pages surely goes a long way to helping Google+ claw back Facebook’s lead.
If you want to add ineedhits to your Google+ circle you can do so here.
