Google Instant Preview, a feature that was till now limited to desktop searches, is now available for Android and iOS devices enabled devices also.
Google’s launched the instant preview feature for their PC users last November so that searchers could view snapshots of the web sites in the search result page without having to enter each page individually. This feature is useful for those who know what website they are actually looking for. The company announced in a recent blog post that the feature has now been rolled out in 38 languages for mobile phone users.
Like PC users, mobile users will also find a magnifying glass next to each search result; however unlike the PC version of Instant Preview, the results on the mobile device do not show up until the entire search query has been typed in.
Google will show a list of search results with a small magnifying glass icon next to each result. Tapping on any one of these magnifying glass icons will show a side by side comparative snapshot view of the first set of results which users can scroll through. They can then pause briefly on the previews to read a short description of the site and see their full website address. Clicking on any of the preview snapshot will take the user to the main page of that particular website.
This new feature comes to be very handy and time saving for mobile searchers who had to jump back and forth between search page results until then deciding which site they would like to actually visit.
I’m yet to try Instant Previews on my iPhone, however judging by the video Google has created it looks like it will be very useful. I have included the video below so you can learn more.
