Google have announced the beta release of a new Keyword Research tool which provides advertisers with additional statistics and filtering options. English language AdWords advertisers should now have beta access to the tool which will also be rolled out across other languages in the coming weeks.
The updated keyword research tool maintains the core functionality of the previous version, but adds a bunch of additional features. Some of these include:
- Category filtering – The ability to refine your keywords by various industry categories
- Keyword filtering – Allows you to include/exclude specific keywords from the results
- Match type filtering – Choose if the results include any combination of broad, exact or phrase matches
- Search trend history – See which keywords are gaining momentum with historical trends
The tool also provides the functionality to include mobile search stats as well as setting a desired CPC price for traffic estimation. Search engine land has a great screenshot showing the new features of this tool:
If you’re an English language AdWords advertiser, visit the opportunities tab and try the new tool for yourself. Non AdWords users will have to wait for Google to update their external keyword tool with the new version.
