Posted by @ 10:59 am

Google Places has a new look which many users are saying is long overdue.

Boasting a must more intuitive dashboard, users will now be able to find and fix listing errors a lot more quickly and easily

If you happen to be a business owner who has numerous locations, you may have avoided uploading or correcting the information you had on Google Places simply because it was either confusing or a hassle. Well, the good news is that it is now much easier to make any changes you want. In addition, there are videos to help you understand the process.

It is vital for the success of your business that your listings are accurate. It may be one of the most important things you can do to build your brand, improve your web presence and build a positive relationship with your customers.

How important is accuracy? An estimated 20% of all Google searchers access Google Places, which adds up to millions of people doing searches every day. If those who find your page discover that your information is accurate, it’s likely they will do business with your competitors. Inaccuracy in your listing can become an expensive mistake.

Apart from ensuring the accuracy of the listings, the new Google Places dashboard allows you to also optimize your listings by adding new photographs, videos, or keywords.

The updated bulk listing management tool is perfect for people with more with 10 or more locations. Google is focusing on relevance and improving the accuracy of search placement. Using this tool well can make the difference between your listing showing up or being invisible to visitors.

Here are some of the features of the new update:

  1. You can edit many of your listings simultaneously.
  2. You can easily search through listings, using filters to find specific information or for finding erroneous listings.
  3. You can add individual listings within the interface, or upload new listings.
  4. You can report any glitches you find to Google by using the link to give feedback.

If you don’t have a Google Places listing for your business now would be a good time to get one set-up. When you create your listing, you should make sure that they are accurate and consistent with other information on your business across the internet.

i am using both Bing and Google and i think both search enenigs give relevant search results. i would still prefer Google though, because it gives a little bit more relevant search results than Bing.
