Bing Toolbox Open for Business – Essential Bing Webmaster Tools

bing-logo-300x220Bing has surprised many of us over the past few weeks with its solid growth in search volume and users.

With Bing securing more and more market share, Microsoft has started to reclaim the attention of webmasters and Search Engine Optimizers.

Accordingly, Microsoft has been quick to get on side with Webmasters and site owners by launching Bing Toolbox. Bing Toolbox is similar to Google’s Webmaster Center, but promises even more. According to the launch post, Bing Toolbox is:

a new portal for all you Bing webmasters, publishers, developers, and advertisers out there. The Toolbox is an organized set of tools for the entire Bing community, plus links to our Webmaster and Developer community blogs and forums.

Whilst they’ve still got some work to go with the UX (user experience), there’s plenty of helpful resources for webmasters to get started with Bing. I’d expect the webmaster toolkit to grow over time as it is still missing some of the important areas in the Google webmaster center.

Here’s links to some of the most useful resources available in the Bing Toolbox.

Let us know what you think of the new Bing Toolbox?

  • Is it as good as Google and Yahoo!’s webmaster tools?
  • What would you like Microsoft to include in the Toolbox’s next releases?

Bing have a BIG job ahead of them if they want to chase down Google. However, the Bing search engine seems to be a huge improvement from Live. I think it will take a while for visiters to trust the Bing search engine.
